ABOUT

Block printing dates back to the Indus Valley civilisation, approximately 3500 - 1300 BCE, and is where carved wooden 'blocks' stamp ink and ink-resistant mud onto cotton to create intricate prints. It takes time and skill, and is entirely done by hand and eye.
Honey Block prints are constructed like this, from organic cotton and plant dyes. Small flaws like cracks 'bleeding' in the ink are a characteristic of this art that encapsulates its humanity and makes every piece different.
We also use hemp from India where we wanted to create that natural unstructured look of Indian hemp clothing. Honey Block's apparel contains Indian hemp and organic cotton woven into textured gauze, to adorn you in nature.
To reduce waste we order low stock and dispatch our orders in biodegradable packaging.
